Head off to Nîmes with Ouibus for a heady mix of culture and pleasure! If you like archaeology and ancient history, then you’ve come to the right place! With monuments such as the Maison Carrée, the arenas and the castellum divisorium, Nîmes will take you on a journey through time and introduce you to its rich past as a cultural and commercial hub. For something different, visit the Musée des Cultures Taurines – perhaps it will entice you to come back and watch some bullfighting during one of the famous Férias organised by the town! Want something more recent? Nîmes is full of modern examples of daring architecture, including the contemporary art museum le Carré d’Art, the Nemausus 1 (which is home to council-owned flats) and the Allées Jaurès with their beautiful park, les Jardins de la Fontaine. If you want to discover the local culinary delights, seek out the marché couvert des Halles, Nîmes’ pretty covered market. There, you can sample picholine olives and Pélardon, a creamy goat’s cheese.
